Just recently the other day on the way home my car was bogging down horribly. I had the pedal to the floor and I was going about 20 mph, I looked at my aftermarket gauge and I'm getting no boost. I can't hear any spooling, and I am just wondering where I should start looking for the source of my problem. Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

did the car die on you? if it did check to see if any of the piping is loose or disconnected, if thats all good check for boost leak.

In addition, check to make sure your wastegate actuator arm didn't fall off the wastegate flapper arm.

The car didn't die on me then, but this morning I started it up and it was idling at about 600 rpm, and occasionally it would jump to like a grand to keep idling, then if i wouldn't step on the gas for around a couple minutes it would die.

i'll check when I get home from school. I really appreciate you guys getting back to me so quickly. So this could cause me to completely lose all boost?

Separated IC piping would certainly make you lose all boost. At that point, the car is drawing air in the same way as a naturally aspirated engine, however, since it's tuned for a turbo, the car thinks it's getting a lot more air than it really is so it's still putting in the amount of fuel. This happened to me when I first bought my car and was driving it home.

sounds to me like you blew a IC pipe off somewhere. just do a look at the obvious first and you will probable find somewhere that the Ic pipe has come off. I did the same thing and then found that the pipe was blown off so I put it back on and all be damned if she didnt come back to life. always check the obvious first.

I also would suggest checking your I/C piping. Same thing happened to me at the track with my old Evo. The rubber couplers kept popping off the I/C piping b/c I was running 25psi. The only way I was able to prevent this problem from reocurring was to sand down the ends of the I/C piping so that there was more friction between the I/C piping and the rubber couplers.

Good luck.

if it's not the piping the i would definatly check the turbo for shaft play.. mine did exactly what yours was doing except for mine making a horrible squeeling noise also.. found my evoIII 16g was toast! good luck

Alright I'll check everything and get back to you guys tomorrow. Thanks alot for your help
