hi all,

well i am now trying to help a friend so this i snot my car i am talking about:

here is whats happening , there is no sound of spooling and car feels like its not turbo its 96 eclipse gst JDM

we thought that the t25 is the problem so we installed another one ( still same problem)
we checked for boost leaks and made a BLT and found zero leaks
we changed spark plugs and filter and put NGK gapped at 0.28
we changed the BOV to greedy with recurculation tube ( NO LEAKS)
we have made so many BLT test with zero leaks
we have changed the injectors O RINGs
we have checked for exhaust manifold leak ( zero)
we have checked for exhuast filter if its clogged also ( it was clogged but we fixed it)
we have changed the MAF sensor
we have changed the spark tension wires
we have changed all the old pipes and made another boost leak test ( still no leaks and it can hold up to 14 psi)

all the gaskets on the turbo were changed NO LEAKS we changed the turbo in the end to 16G ( BRAND NEW) just got it a week ago with the J PIPE

we have redone the timing belt and the base timing to read 5 degrees now

but still nothing seems to solve the problem , please help us here we can not hear the turbo spooling and there is no power maximum PSI we can see on the aftermarket gauge is 6 psi( gauge is connected correctly) i have checked the arm of the wastegate and its good this is the third turbo guys and nothing is happening :confused::confused:

before i forgot also we have changed the BISS screw with new one and new O ring

we have done a compression test and we got these numbers 172 172 170 160 across the line

what is left to check please let us know

Sounds like it could be a tuning issue.

What kind of boost controller are you using? Try a different one and see if it helps.

What are you logging with, post some numbers if you can.

Do you have any CEL?

at the moment we are not using an MBC iam connecting it directly to the solenoid , however i tried a bleed type MBC but also did not make any difference , but now i am on the ECU solenoid

as for the CEL no there is no cel and iam not using any logger here i just want the car to run normaly i dont want extreme power just want it to boost normally like any GST

your feedback please i cant figure it out, THERE IS NOTHING LEFT REALLY :confused:

Hmm.. you said you replaced the park plugs, how about the spark plug cables ? I had a similar issue and it turned out to be just the cables went bad.

Did you check the screw on top of the bov if it's not too loose or even out ? sounds liek the car is leaking boost somewhere and not holding it.
Greddy bov's are known for not having the best diaphragm around. Check your bov screw and check if it's too tight or too loose. If either one of those, adjust it and test it till you get the right setting.
Also you are running your vacuum line straight from the wastegate to the turbo ? Or in this case, from your j-pipe to the wastegate ?

the screw on the greedy is in the middle , i even had doubt myself so i changed the whole BOV but still again no spooling and no sound for the BOV

for the vaccum lines here how i have done it. vaccum line from the actuator with T line to the J PIPE and then straight to the soleniod , and other vaccum line is from the Intake pipe to the soleniod

i did not forget the restriction that should be inside the vaccum lines that connects to the J PIPE

:confused::confused::confused:

Is the maf plugged in ? Sometimes people tend to connect it after putting it back together.
Also just out of curiosity, are you using the stock oil feed line ?

MAF is plugged in ,i even removed the MAF from my car and tried it on this car but still same result

for the oil feedline , i got a complete kit with the 16g so all new and no leaks and the turbo is not shot , its brand new turbo and this is the third one as i mentioned

our problem was never a turbo but we were at doubt.

Check for a pre-turbo exhaust leak. Also look for cracks on the turbine housing and around the wastegate flapper

So the car do cruise normally, but just doesn't build any boost? Only 6 psi...

What started this car doing this?

What all is done to the car? Fuel injectors, pump, ect....

I'm thinking if you've done some things to the car and boosted it then you hit fuel cut somewhere. Maybe try re-setting the ECU. Hell you've tried everything else so it won't hurt.

This sounds like an electronic or electrical problem. There doesn't seem to be any sound mechanical reason that you haven't explored. Let me do a little research and brush up on some of these issues like the BCS. I'll write back shortly.

dear all,
here are the answers to all your questions:

1- no craks or leak in the turbine or in the exhaust manifold or preturbo
2- stock fuel pump, stock fuel injector ( car is not smoking at all , no black or white or blue smoke)
3 car idles fine and we have 19 vaccum at idle ( perfect idle ) very goof after market gauge and its connected correctly to the solenoid line ( fuel pressure) as in VFAQ

4- we reset the ECU i forgot to mention , but i did not check it for leaks in the capicators

CAR RUNS great but no power it feels like a non turbo

:confused::confused: what is happening here its really strange as i am really about to give up i even told him today to sell the car :p

thx man will do so and report back im currently trying to swap the ecu

but this is good idea removing the hose thats going to the ic

but i can see the upper ic hose getting bigger everytime i rev the car but no bov sound neither power???

so the turbo is producing pressure

Does his car have an a/f ratio guage hooked up, do you have a logger or anything on it? May be running too lean or too rich. Fuel pump might be goin out and not be able to supply enough fuel when it starts to build boost.
