Salmon Arm,
i have a '93 Talon TSi with 218,xxxkm's, up until a few days ago it ran fine then i went to go drive it into the shop just to check things over. anyway i shut it off while i was opening the doors ,then when i went to start it up again and drive it in it just cranked over and wasn't firing . after a few minutes of cranking and checking for things that could be worn it fired up and ran for about 30seconds and then died. we took off the battery cables and cleaned the positive termanal and after that it fired up ever time. :thumb: then i drove it back to the yard and half and hour later same thing .I can hear the fuel pump and i checked the spark plugs and they were a little bit wet (but not flooded).it doesn't have any spark at all.what would cause this? could it be some senser? I'm pretty sure its something simple i just don't know where to look. :coy: is there any kind of diagnostic tool that you can get that will tell me whats wrong or do i have to take it into the local Chrysler dealer (please no :barf: ) what do you think is my best bet? I know quite a bit about Talons and I've done lots of work on them but this one has me stumped.

any kind of help would be great ;)

Find someone with your same setup and try their crank angle sensor which is on the back of the head. I replace these every once in a while and even bought a 90 awd which drove the guy mad and it turned out to be the cas. If not the cas, then probably the engine computer which dies like flies. I would be careful about buying used 1g ecms that have never been repaired and the old caps still in place. They die with no warning. Eigher one can give you this symptom. I hope this helps Rick

Did you check the Coil Pack???????
The black plastic thing that the plug wires plug into, I will bet that is your prob, if not pull the ECU and see if it stinks like bad fish,or burnt smell, It is possible your caps leaked and fried the ECO board. But I think Coil Pack.
