Oakville,
I have a 92 Talon n/t about 80k miles, my head is spinning and i am back to square one.
Anyway recently I sent out my Ecm and the caps were replaced that was my first problem, the car ran great after the first no start episode for about a week. Then driving to work
i stopped at a light the car just died.

Pulled out Ecm and sent it back, checked out okay supposedly, put it back in.
Checked for spark no spark, next pulled out coil wasn't totally convinced but replaced one from junk yard, did the tests according to Haynes on power transistor seems good I think??
I thought my original coil was okay according to the test to buy wasn't sure.
Go to start after all this freezing my offf and no go...

Tried to test the crankshaft sensor not sure if done properly, but anyway turned igniton on
terminal 3 should be getting 12 volts at the harness but i have 4 volts ?? Number 2 position on harness should have 4.8 to 5.2 volts getting 8.5 volts. Position 4 ground circuit
continuity check no reading no test light on......

Does this tell me that my inputs or some circuit or circuits have a break??
Where do I go from here?
Any response would help pls...

Bob..

Bob -

Based on what you described here, I would try replacing the CAS with a known good unit and see if that remedies your problem.

Since your original problem was the ECU, I would also find a known good one just to double check the work they have done.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I know I am not supposed to say who fixed my ecm
but according to them they are reputable and when I sent it back to them the guy called
me back quick and said that he has test cars and my ecm has been running for two
hours in a car??

Oldman has a very valid suggestion. Also, make sure the connectors on the ECU are firmly inserted, of course. :D

BM - Just as a note, you don't have to press enter after every line - the messageboard will auto-word wrap for you.

psychlow, you wrote about the CAS, is this a crank angle sensor, is that the same as the crankshaft position sensor because i don't know what the CAS does or where it is???

thanks.

My no start problem has been solved, before Xmas I put in a new fuel pump aftermarket new part, it was faulty, never overlook anything never thought that it would fail after one
week. back on road.

thanks for all the advice.

Glad you got it working but next time always check for both spark and fuel first on a no start issue, that will tell you which direction to take most of the time. :thumb:
