i had just got the head redone cause the valves got bent and when i got it back it had a boost leak and some issues starting. it would start maybe after 5 tries when it was cold but when it was warm itd start right, but now it wont start and when it does it spits around liek its not on all cylinders and then im pretty sure it pushes a little bit of gas out between the exhaust manifold and the exhaust housing cause it starts steeming and it smells of gas. my ecu seems to be clicking alot to. if anyone has any ideas please let me know i just dumped $1800 into it so id liek it to be running. thanks again

How do you know it's your ECU clicking? Double check the spark plug wires. It sounds like one or more of the cylinders is firing wrong. Like you connected the wrong cylinder to the wrong coil pack plug.

i can hear the ECU clicking and ill check the wires but i drove it for 3 days till it decided to stop strting and if it was the wires it would have ran like hell. any other ideas

Is your ECU throwing any codes? Did you pinpoint the boostleak spot yet? did you cross around any vacuum lines? Check your fuel injectors and connections. Check your mass connections/ A lot to really check, it's something you unhooked and moved at one point to get the head off "probably".. Did you check the condition of the pistons, while your head was off? since you said you bent the valve, I assume you broke a t-belt?
I don't really know what to make about your ecu clicking, haven't come across that, i'll search around.
Can you be anymore detailed on the symptoms?

i found the leak the first day i had it back and all the lines are correct. i drove it for 3 days when i got it back, it was hard starting when it was cold but when it was warm it would start ok. but now it wont start period. when i drove it it ran fine. i dont have anything to pull codes

You dont have a voltimeter, or want to rig up a simple buzzer? I'd take out your ECU and give it a good once over, check for leaking capacitors/components, etc..

Good advice, blackbyrd. I'd also check for ruined capacitors. It's a common thing on DSM's, and lucky for you, it's easy to fix (http://www.tmo.com/howto/ecu1g/caps.htm). As far as pulling codes, you can do that with a voltmeter. If you have one that can do audible sounds, set it to that. Or just pick up a buzzer at Radio Shack, like blackbyrd suggested. Then you just touch the two pins, and you'll hear noises. Long = 10, short = 1. So L-L-S = 21. More info here.
