I' trying to fix my grandmas 90 laser rs 2.0. we found there was no spark at cylinder 2 and 3. got new coil pack and installed it today, now i have no spark at any cylinder, even put the old one back and no spark at all. could i have damaged something? the plug that goes to the coil pack was plugged in to.

Solution
when i used to turn the key forward, the solenoids on the firewall would click like crazy, now nothing. seems like anything todo with electronics under the hood dont work. im starting to think the ecu is dead.

just found i had no cel come on... basically no power to any engine components ,and cel doesnt come on. im kinda confused on ebay i have a 90 2.0 but all the ecus say 91 to 94. will those work in my car?
Make sure its grounded properly? Maybe your ignition control module took a shit? not sure if your car has one but you can take it off and bring it in to any parts store to get it tested for free. they should be able to check it for you.

1. fuses - i didnt see any blown fuses, but are there any specific ones i should look for that i could have missed?
2. ground - is the coil pack just grounded by the bolts that hold it down?

i don't believe im getting fuel either. i don't hear the pump turning on. before when i turned the key forward there would be some clicking on the firewall, but nothing now. it seems like there is no power to any of the ignition pieces. was a bad c.a.s do that? checked the ignition fuse and also switched it nothing changes

Check fuel at the rail, also check the mpi fuse, ign fuse, check power transistor check ecu, was it a new coil pack, check all wiring to the coil pack.

update
- getting fuel, didnt knew fuel pump doesnt turn on unless u crank on 1g
- replaced cas, did nothing and all fuses are good
- still have not tested the power transistor

-get on checking that power transistor!

my buddy has a 90 gsx and tuned 21lbs making 257awhp and we went on a quick 1-2-3-4 gear pulled and boom his car died while pulling in 4th completely lost power and died so we coast to a buddys house and we thought his T belt was doomed, checked t belt and was fine cranked but wouldn't start. He later replaced the power transistor and she is BoOSTing again.

:thumb: good info!

one more thing. how do i verify that the power transistor is receiving power?
