Real quick guys. I've got a 96 Evo IV, had a knocking rod, pulled the motor had it rebuilt put it back in. Since then, the #1 coil pack doesnt get a signal from the ECU?? I have replaced the ECU, the connector to the coil pack, Cam sensor, ran a new signal wire from the ECU directly to the coil pack, ran a direct ground from the connector harness to the main earthing point. I have run out of ideas and there arent many engine savy people over here in the UK to help me out. This model EVO is very simalr to the the E8 and 9, hopefully you guys can help me out.
This is what happens when i put a multimeter on the connector. There are 3 wires on each connector:
Consatant power: tested at 11.9v
Ground: OL displayed when testing ohms, jumped around from 80-0, then went down to .02 Ohms??? Checked grounds, all looked good.
Signal: No voltage during crank
Here is a pick of the ignition system diagram.
