So I'm anout 95% done with my motor build, and got everything in almost ready to go.

I went to go put in a BRAND NEW Red Top in today and when I put the Neg to neg, and the went to put the positive to the positive terminal, it kinda wierdly sparked at me, so much it zapped my finger a bit and melted the terminal a little. I thought maybe it was just something on drawing a little juice. So when I went into the cabin to see if anything was on, everything appeared to be off. I put the key in, turned to the on position, and went to go test the radio, and nothing. No power. So I started checking everything else, realizing I had dash lights, blinkers, headlights, wipers. But no power locks or windows.

I'm not sure what the heck is going on. I checked every damn fuse under the dash one by one, and checked the fusible links, relays and etc. Everything looks good!

So now after searching I didnt see anything related, so here I am.

I turn the fan on, and I hear the high speed relay click at full blast mode.
I try to start the car, nothing. Just a click.

Anyone?

I'm ready to get this bi*** running.

Car cranks.
Dome
Power Windows
Power Locks
Seat Belts
Radio does not work.

Anyone?!

If you coould put a little more info on the no power and what you have checked, that'd be great... I can tell you to start chasing wires, but that could get you no where without the proper info. Do you have a haynes manual or wiring scematic?

I know you said you checked the fusible links but actually take out the 80amp link in the underhood pass side fusebox and double check it. i know that went on me and i didn't have power for windows locks or lights.

+1

re-check the fuseible links and fuses, also when installing a battery you connect the pos. then the neg.

Check the largest amp fuse under the hood.

On my 2G I had a 100amp fuse I blew before.

I blew mine by hitting the altenator with a wrench on accident, qucik spark. I lost power windows/locks and my radio.

Thanks for the help guys!
I'll be checking these ideas out when I get home from work.

Plus a "first start" video when I crank her over tonight.

Oh, I have also checked all fuses, under hood fuses, everything, I'm going to re-check and pull every damn fuse I can and test them.

I don't have time for stupid shit like this.

I'm ready to drive this damn thing!

I've been extremely busy the last few days and havn't gotten a chance to look at it.
I fired it up again though to come to realize a buddy of mine and I put a ground strap over to the body on the alternator, which was probably what was causing the arcing. So I tested the alt. I zapped it dead. New one is in my other car awaiting installation tomarrow.

Then I'm going to hunt down this issue.
I'll check that 80AMP fuse again too.

Stay tuned!

I'm experiencing thr same issue in my 1g!
