I pretty much built the entire car this winter and I tried to start it the other day to no avail. It's not getting spark and I couldn't smell or see any signs of fuel on the plugs. I haven't had much time to check stuff out yet, but, to be honest, diagnostics isn't my strong suit. So, I was hoping you guys could shoot me some more ideas.

Already know:
Fuel pumps are working and base fuel pressure has been set. ECMLink is functioning perfectly. ECU is telling injectors to fire. Connectors are on right.

I tried testing the injector resistor moduleI, but I don't exactly know how to. I also checked the injectors for power. Neither the resistor nor the injectors showed any power. Any tips on how to do this properly?

Log of engine cranking. (The battery was charged after this log and I tried again with similar results).

Did you remove any fuses while you were doing repairs? (like the big one that tells the engine to start) Is the plug for the crank and cam angle sensor plugged in?

when i did my 6 bolt swap , i spent a week chasing and tracing wires to find the cas had a broken wire as soons as it came out of the sensor . alot of times with electrical its something stupid . try not to over look the little things . check fuses , grounds , and make sure everything is plugged in and to the correct plug .

I'm new to DSM's, not sure if they even have this sensor. I have an evo. But it sounds like it might be your Crankshaft position sensor.

if it's bad, you wont get fuel or spark

The CAS controls both functions. Is this a 6bolt swap? Im assuming so. Remove the CAS and rotate it. You should have fire and injector pulse. If your still not getting anything double check wiring. If this is a 6bolt swap with the 1g CAS did you wire in the CAS yourself or buy the premade harness??

Im definately leaning towards the CAS good luck :thumb:

^, I was also thinking it could be either the cas or cps, but I was hoping to get other options to try first, since I don't necessarily want to take it out of time and I definitely don't want to buy new sensors to see if they are the problem. I'm kinda saving those as a last resort option. Btw, it is a 7-bolt, top and bottom!

:aha: in that case double check your connections... I have seen a few people get the A/C plug and coil or Cam sensor plugs mixed up. They are triangular in shape and can easily be swapped if you did any major relocating or wiring or removed the motor (this applies in your case)

I would bet a dollar its something simple. The Cam and CPS both plug in on the driver side right behind the upper timing cover.

I think me and Brian covered the same problem in this post. I have a pic of the connectors. Disregard the info on the CAS for the 2gb and 6bolt. If your is the 95-96 with the CAM and CPS inside the timing cover then you should just have to bolt the CAM sensor up and make sure the trigger plate is attached to the CAM gear

The connections are hooked up correctly. I used the tech section to check and double check all of them. (It gives the color of every wire so there is a 0% chance of mixing them up).

If all your timing marks line up with the dowel pins at 12 oclock and the trigger plate is connected to the intake cam with the CAM sensor connected you should be getting fire. If you had injector pulse and no fire Id lean towards a power transistor or coil but you said you have neither.

Maybe your aftermarket ignition is FUBAR'ED ???

Yea, I just for my 2cents, I had an MSD DIS4 system ( i think thats what it was). I bought the system brand new, it ran for 15 minutes and fried the adapter that was necessary for use. After that I kept warrantying parts from MSD and I kept failing. i caused a no-start, no-spark condition.

I ditched the MSD for the factory coil pack and havent had a single problem yet, and just for referance my car runs low 12s all day long. I think I have my plugs gapped at .020" but I honestly dont remember, I havent checked them in over a year.
