okay, i know that title is a bit weird but let me explain myself. i recently acquired a 95 GS-T eclipse needing a lot of work. it needed a motor so i picked up a low mileage 99 7bolt with 66k from a TDC performance in Mobile AL. i slaped on a rebuilt head, cometic headgasket (all torqued properly), ebay big 16g, arp headstuds, bs eliminator kit, SSAC FMIC, and a 2.5 inch exhaust. nothing fancy just something fun to drive.

so the motor is in the car ready to be started and i soon realize that when i turn the key the starter doesnt want to crank. fuel pump kicks on but nothing from the starter. i look under the dash and realize its got a aftermarket alarm system. upon the advise from everyone on this site i removed it from my eclipse, bypassed the CCS (clutch safty switch), and jumped my starter relay behind my radio. i tried to crank it over and still nothing.

so back in the day i had a 96 tsi awd that had this same issue. i just installed a push button start and problem solved. so i t-tapped the starter relay wire and ran a wire directly to the battery. i can get the motor to turn over but i cant get any spark with the key on the on position. im pretty sure i got everything hooked up correctly but just cant figure it out with me not being a wiring type of guy...

thanks in advance for the help
david

try running a jumper wire from ## battery to the power on the cam sensor... I had the same problem and thas the only thing that worked on a tight budget

yes and i also see you dont even have a turbo dsm. unless you dont update your profile. i tried wiring in a 1g black cas last night and swapping pins around at the ecu with still no success. im still not getting spark at the moment. i doubt its the coil pack.

does anybody know how to test a power transisitor to see if its bad?

got the car to fire off today. swaped in my black top cas, made the wiring harness for a 95, swaped wires at the ecu. shes only running on 2 cylinders tho. injectors 1-3 are not firing. im pretty sure its from the pins at the ecu.

hopefully ill be rolling around in my new gs-t shortly :D

alright went outside again this morning and tinkered with it a little more. im getting injector pulse at each injector. so it must either be bad gas from sitting so long or 2 faulty injectors. im going to pull the plugs and see if i get a mist of spray in each cylinder and get back with you guys :thumb:

I had the same problem when I bought my car. The alarm is installed wrong, or something went wrong. I put everything back to stock and it cranked right away. Check the connections on your starter and make sure it's grounded right, as well.

the starter turns the motor over. im starting to get really confused because im getting spark (looks good but cant tell if its enough) on all 4 cylinders. im getting fuel pressure and the ecu is telling the injectors to fire. its got 12v to each wire that runs to the plugs of the injectors.

btw, i removed the aftermarket alarm and thats how i can get the car to turn over but it still only runs on 2 cylinders...

anyone????
