No Spark, No RPM

Hello all,
Today my 97 gsx quit on me on the way to town. It turns over fine but theres no spark. Fuses look to be fine and getting power. I believe that it is the crank sensor since theres no rpm showing on gauge when the vehicle is being turned over. I am new to site and new to using forums.

Check your power transistor. My plug came loose one time and it was acting the same way.

Thanks for the reply, i checked the plug on the power transistor seems fine. Got it towed home today and put in the shop

Most likely the power transistor went out as that supplies the tach signal (crank sensor doesn't) as well as spark control.

Just finished swapping out power transistor still the same issue.

Found the problem it is the crank sensor.

Was going to say crank sensor. Mine did the same thing years ago glad you figured it out bro.
DSM= do somthing (to me) mechanic .
