I have ran out of common fixes 2g auto cleaned my throttle Body new 02 sensors, coil, plugs, wires and timing is perfect, but lousy throttle respond and pick up for giggles I ran a base escort and lost .....bad the only thing I found interesting was excessive carbon buildup around 3rd cyl exh valve.......with. I couldnt even see the valve.....any help is greatly appreciated thank you

How long have you had this car? Did you buy it like this?

I see from your profile that you have adjustable cam pulleys. Check to make sure one, or both, of those hasn't slipped out of adjustment.

I've owned this one about a month had a spun rod bearing replaced the motor from junk yard but I failed to notice until now the second valve of the third cylinder exh side was clogged with tan colored carbon or such. Can this strange issue cause crap performance or a possible cause of it. I've never seen this. Thanks

Naturally if it's clogged enough so the exhaust is not leaving the cylinder it would run poorly. Is clogged that bad? Kind of the same idea as plugging the muffler. Watch out for those escorts . ROFL

Yeah normally you can see the valve stem typically where you see a leaking valve seal is filled but the sister valve is clean but what you said about a stuffed muffler makes sense any idea on how to get it out I just used seafoam and filled 3 city blocks with white smoke

Seafoam is what I would have tried also. If that wont help id hate to say but taking the valve out would be my guess.
