Hey guys I just got done putting a friends 18g turbo with less than 200 miles on my car and after all the install and checking for leaks and letting the smoke clear I decided to take it for a drive.

First thing I noticed when I turned on my car for the first time the Air/Fuel Gauge was reading very lean. I let it warm up and still didnt change. Even when I pressed on the gas it either stayed there or it went completely blank. I have no logger or dsm link just to let you guys know. So after a while I took it for a test drive. I reversed and right away it felt different. I would back up and it wanted to die on me going to 300rpm. At the take off I noticed no boost and at 3k I just saw my gauge go from -25 vac to 0 boost, if i reved it a lil more it would probably get 3 psi or so. So I took it around the block and it just felt slow and the clutch felt a bit harder and not as firm. Dont know if its bc I havent driven it in a while or what but all I know is that something is wrong.

So what could it be? Boost leak somewhere? O2 sensor going bad bc of wd40? Turbo bringing it too much air? Any advice would really help. thnx

First I would check the MAF and 02 sensor harnesses and see if they are plugs in. Then I would check for boost leaks if the car still exhibits the same conditions. You could swap out your 02 sensor with one that is known to be good (of a friends running car). It's ahrd to pinpoint these kinds of situations with no logger or trouble codes.

the maf and o2 sensor are both plugged in. about boost leaks, they dont cause the air/fuel gauge to read lean do they. especially when i press the gass the gauge is not marking anything.
