So I was messing with my rad the other day and I must have messed up the seal around my j-pipe so now I have a pretty decent sized boost leak there. The weird thing is, right after that my car starts running LEANER. Wtf, I thought when you get a boost leak you run richer? I used to get 10.0-10.5 in boost before the leak now im getting 11.5-11.9 AFRs in boost, along with the car noticably slower. I replaced the fuel filter first thinking that may be the problem, but its still the same. I left the leak open because I assumed if I fixed it, it may run even leaner.

It makes sense to me that it would lean out if it were sucking in air that the maf is not reading, it will not dump in as much fuel as it would be if the maf was accounting for all air entering the engine.

That doesn't make sense. I assume you didn't but did you change any of the settings on your AFC. Also, did you have the intake off at anytime. The only way I see this happening is if there is a leak in your intake before the turbo but after MAF sensor or if you were messing with a AFC. Weird :hmm:

Fix all boost leaks, get dsmlink ditch the afc(fuel points are not that great on them), and get 750cc-1000cc injectors. You won't look back.:hellyeah:

Or if he has a later model 97 with a flashable ecu then he can save himself $700 and get ecuflash with ceddymods for free, and only have to buy a tactrix 2.0 cable with reflashadapter for less than $200

True but I like that you can read and clear cel's in dsmlink and just enjoy the fine peramiters it has on things you can do within the program.Ecu flashing is fine too,but more or less getting something better to control the ecu then just running a afc.:thumb:

when i do a test leak, should i plugged in on turbo inlet and tb elbow? should I block where the air breather connected from the head? because the air comes out from their. my valve cover leaks a litle too.
