Need some ideas. The motor was rebuilt, as was the clutch. Got about 750 miles on it, before I setup NLTS(6k). I got a few pulls in, before the clutch engagement changed on me(for the 4th time since getting it running), and it wouldn't hold. So I brought it home, and as I was pulling in, I noticed a ticking noise. I cannot figure out where exactly it is coming from. It sounds like it's coming from where the transmission and block bolt together. Ticking is there with or without the clutch pushed in, but only at 1/4 throttle, or 2-3k, depending on if the car is moving or not.
Right around the same time, I noticed I was pushing oil from somewhere, because it is smoking a bit, not under boost, or decel, but idling and pulling away from a stop really. Oil pressure has dropped a tiny bit too. Have not lost any power, and actually, it feels a bit better than before. It has started blowing the dipstick though when I NLTS. No metallic in the oil, pulled the valve cover and can't notice anything out of the ordinary. Tried checking for play in the pistons by pulling the plugs and pushing on them with a screwdriver, and nothing. I am stumped with both ideas.
Only thing I can think of, is that either the clutch is adjusted too low and not disengaging, which doesn't make the most sense because there is no change when it is pushed in, or that the TOB is going out, which doesn't make much sense either, because there is no change when the clutch is pushed in. I'm going to try and readjust the clutch tomorrow, and if that doesn't help, I have no idea what to do, and will probably end up pulling the tranny and trying to figure out what the hell is going on.
