WhatS cRackIn DsMer"S?//?? i have a 97 eCLipse nt and i want to run an NX 65 wet shot for the time being. And in the time coming, i plan to turbo. my question is if i run nitrous now, and turbo then, will i encounter problems? i currently have 100k miles. also, what supporting mods would be beneficial while my cars on the bottle? should i get an afc? my last question is what quarter mile time should i epxect with a 65 wet shot, aem cold air, greddy 4-1's, a magnaflow cat back, and a good driver??? imma NOOB when it comes to nitrous so bare with me here fellas!!!

Make sure you have two 15lb bottles so you don't run out, and I'd spray atleast 150, maybe 200 to it. There was a RS here locally spraying 160 and it was running like a champ! 10 second ride FO SHO!!!!1

did you just tell him to spray 150-200 shot on a [pretty much] stock engine?

uh, no.

He asked for my opinion, so I gave it. If I drove a N/T and typed like that, I'd want to spray 200 to my [pretty much] stock motor too.

someone please help me out here, you just told someone to spray 150-200 on a STOCK motor? you are aware the engine would most definitely explode almost instantly. you don't see the stupidity in that comment? or maybe i'm just mis-reading something.

Yes, you are all mis-reading this little thing called sarcasm. I would reply, but feelings would be hurt and we'd have a 10 page thread on our hands.

Regards,

i said i dont know alot about nitrous. i didnt say i dont know about what i can do to my car. dont reply unless u gonna help someone.

65 is a good start I recomend a 2g gst fuel pump and copper plugs gap them at .32
and then maybe you could spray a 200 shot. LOL remember n02 doesnt make the hp fuel does

ok, well I'm telling you now, nothing above a 75 shot on stock internals. you run a lot of risk and might melt a piston or bend a rod at anything over that.

Never heard of NX having a 65 shot.. 35, 50, 75, 100... Will you encounter problems? Ya probably because boost on a non turbo motor usually means trouble...

Why does boost on a non turbo motor mean trouble? Properly built, it is no different than any other motor. They require proper engine mangement and tuning.. and probably wont support AS MUCH power stock as a 4g63, but so what?

OMG here we go with the 4g63 vs 420a... I guess i should have worded my post better. Turbo on a non turbo means trouble if not tuned right and its obvious this guy wouldnt know how to tune the car correctly.

Turbo on a turbo car means trouble if it's not tuned right. Hell, an n/a car is in trouble if it's not tuned right. That goes for any motor. We agree on one point, this guy doesn't need to be tuning on anything other than my grandma's piano.

Why isn't anybody yelling at this guy for suggesting the poor SOB gaps his plugs to 1/3 of an inch.

It's N2O. N02 is nitrogen dioxide. 2g gst fuel pump?? Copper plugs? .32 gap? :thumbdown I think you mean .032 maybe? N20 does help make the horsepower, along with the fuel. It provides more oxygen inside the cylinder to combust, along with the gasoline. Atleast you got one thing right.

Wow, what a bunch of horseshit flying around in this thread.

Guys to me a favour and don't reply with stupid "run 200hp shot" type comments. I don't care how he types, that has nothing to do with it. Also lets drop the 420a vs 4G63 bs, this is the nitrous forum and were only talking about Nitrous shot on a 420a right now thats it.

97cLyPsE: An AFC will help you sort out your nitrous shot but only if you have a wideband O2 sensor setup in your car. www.innovatemotorsports.com - Something like this. Then you can watch your real air/fuel reading and set your AFC up to make up the differences as the spray goes through the RPM band. Some time and power can be made up there for sure.

If your not planning on building your motor then you will not be able to run turbo and nitrous together. You can just take off the nitrous and sell the kit and put it towards the turbo setup. If you are going to build your motor (pistons rods etc) and run a management system then you should keep the nitrous. Thats a whole pile of money however so likely you will be best off just to sell the nitrous and go with a turbo on the stock engine.

Just Find A Kit That Gives A 50-70 Shot And Call It A Day. When You Go Turbo, The Added Pressure Won't Be Tolerated By The Na Pistons For Too Long. So Upgrade Your Pistons Than Go Ahead And Get A Larger Shot. I Don't Have Too Much Track Experience But Here In Nyc , I've Seen Plenty Of Cars From Honda To Bmw Blow Motors At The Street Races From Going Over Board On Nos. Remember Your Drive For Winning Is Not Worth Blowing A Motor.
