I really would like to consider putting nitrous on instead of a turbo. If i go the turbo route I am at about 5000 becasue i want a stage 2 system. I am the kinda guy that pulls up next to a little hot shot and I jsut wanna leave him in the dust. Not very often.... Knowing that, what tyoe of nitrous setup is best for me? What brand do you guys like?
Thanks
-Ben

If you want a hardcore system, like doing the work, and a lot less than 5000, I'd go with a direct port. There's always a wet kit of course, but you seem to want to go an all out route, but not for that much money. For DP, I'd go with NX. For Wet kit, I'd choose Zex.

anything under a 150 shot i'd just go w/ a wet kit. no sense in wasting money/time/motor with direct port.

For a regular wet kit I would still go with an NX kit. The nossles are better and it's proven. Zex designed their nossle after NX's design but could copy it exactly because of NX's patent. Nobody had a good wet kit until NX came along with their EFI stage 1 kit about 8 years ago. Before that it was alway N.O.S. telling us that it would puddle in our intake manifold and cause a back fire (true for their system, not for NX's system) so everybody was afraid to make a good wet kit.

NX came along and made a killer nossle and cured all problems related with wet kits. They made more power, are safer than a dry kit and have more robust components with lifetime warranty to boot.

I just can't get over that ZEX thing with all the solenoids and electronics inside one little magical box. Something about nitrous fuel and electical running through one box that kinda worries me.

I've seen a few locals running Zex and other people with problems. Solenoids sticking, it's just a junk setup. Go with NX.

Those of you that have NX..... How much did you pay out the door for the wet kit? What size bottle do you use?
-Thanks

Is the NX a big price difference to the Zex system? NX seems like a good idea. Will i run into any issues when i go to install in on my non turbo engine? Pretty straight forward?

just run one nozzle in the intake tube. youll be fine. search because i remember talking to jim abotu n/t nitrous systems before

When i get my car back i can post pics of my NT installation. Im using the NX kit right now, at a 75 shot on my NT and havent had a problem. Its kinda funny actually, when i first got the kit i read the instructions and was like "Wha"?. It seems alot harder that it really was. After just poking about for a few hours it all fell into place and the install went off smoothly in almost no time.

BTW, there is a NX main-line kit that can be bought for just $350 bucks, and it includes everything youre going to need for the install and a 10lb bottle. Any questions just PM me and ill try to help ya out.

anyone know a recommended site for a zex kit and how much the cheapest kit would be and what all i should get with the kit? i was gonna go with nx but since i'd be a beginner with the nitrous set up, i heard the zex kit was the safest kit! thanks for the help...

Speaking of safe,
Are we all talking installation safe or using safley????? I decided on NX becasue i want relibility.
-Thanks

thats rediculous... thats like me saying "ive seen a few 4g63 turbo dsm's crankwalk... its just a piece of shit engine and a crappy car" dont tell people the entire set up is junk based off of a few experiences, experiences where it could have been(and probably was) the users fault

I am VERY glad that your zex kit is working well. I purchased the NX Mainline EFI kit for 338.00 SHIPPED. www.streetdemand.com, I have no idea how they can sell it for that price but i am happy. I have read complaints on both Zex AND NX. I jsut happen to find more zex compaints then NX complaints. Use whatever works for yea. I am looking forward to my NX kit. Peace :|

Isn't ZEX supposed to be some "smart" nitrous or something...i was considering going with that because i have heard its a lot safer...anyone follow me

its safer because it adjusts the fuel to the nitrous pressure... or the other way around i cant remember, and there shots arent as powerful as they claim... not off by alot, but enough to make it seem like there 75 shot is safer then the others

As ive said before, the user and the quality and care of that install will dictate the safety of just about any nitrous install. Be good to your car, and pamper it, and you will be rewarded with many a good run
