Nitrous on a turbo

:talon: Im using an evo 3 turbo with 660cc injectors and pretty much what I need to run mid twelves . So to my gander I asked Marco @ magnus motorsports what would be the best way of getting the most out of my set up with nos and not have to build any internals.

He said ; listen lips get a wet system .

I said; sure ok but what about if I run 19 psi at the track on 94 octane pump gas with a little racing gas to boot , how big of a shot do I use?

Marco said; well fish stick you could stager how and when you use the nos , like at the launch purge on the intercooler thus when launching all that air being passed through the intercooler would be chilled giving you an extra edge at the go. Then go a 75 shot in third down the track.

I said; a 75 shot ?are you shure? I asked

he said; yup but if you really want extra security drop in a cometic head gasket and arp head studs.

So thats pretty much our conversation in regards to nos and what he knew worked best ,,,,, then like always he kicked my ass again in command and conquer. zero hour

Just thought you might be interested in knowing.:thumb:

Purge onto the intercooler? I never thought of something like that. I wonder what kind of cooling that would do.

Well I guess the reason for purging on the Intercooler would be that

one; your 75 shot will be fresh in the lines

two; if your going to purge might aswell do it some were it could benifit you ,, dont you agree.

Three; it would benefit you but probably not alot , but when racing every little bit counts.

I'm not a big fan of ZEX in any way.

Lets put it this way, NX gives you all the parts so you can mount them as you please which is nice. ZEX has everything in one contol box. Fuel, Nitrous and electronics all pass through one box. I'm not sure about you but that's not what I want under the hood of my car, lets put it that way.

NX has lifetime warranty on their solenoids and you can send them in whenever you want for a full rebuild for free. I send mine in every year. Their tech support is amazing and the people they have there give you real answers. I called NOS support when I had a dry kit on my GTI and they just kept telling me, we don't recommend that it will blow up your motor. I asked a few different questions and that was all they coudl say. It was really annoying. NX gives it to you straight.

On top of that, wet kits were not even popular until the NX single nossle kit came out (wet single not direct port) and they perfected the nossle design so it didn't cause puddeling in the intake manifold like the old crappy NOS kits do. It wasn't until then that everybody figured out what they were doing with their nossle and copied it. That's why there are lots of great wet kits on the market now. I know people inside NOS and ZEX and this is first hand information, not internet bs info either.

Lets put it this way John Sheppard, Marco from Magnus and Brent Rau all use NX for nitrous. Sponsorship or no sponsorship they all want to go fast and use the best stuff. Even Len Monserrat who used to run the red 1st gen switched to NX from NOS at a race I was at in FL and he picked up a 1/10th with the same shot on a high 9 pass.
