;) seriously dont flame this, but i was listening to someone talk about using that niteshades stuff on their tails the other day and i wondered (never used it before) if it could be sprayed on in a light, consistant layer on the insides of window glass if it would be transparent enough from the inside... im already tinted in the clipse and im not really sure i want to try this on any of my other cars or my family's... but its an interesting idea to ponder with the ease of application and removal (paint remover)... what does everyone whos used it think?(and thos who havent)

semesters not over for another 3 weeks so i dont have access to my paint booth in the garage and cant give it a shot, anyone else with good painting skills want to give it a shot on a piece of random glass or their windows if theyre bold enough, and let us know what the result is?:p

haha if it worked really nicely wouldnt that be cool though?

I dont think it would work, wouldnt stick to the glass very well with out running. when you do tails and everything its best to lightly sand them first, think you could sand glass and have it not look all scratched??

Plus it would be nearly impossible to get all the windows to look the same. Tint isnt all that expensive, id get it done the right way unless you have a spair piece of glass laying around. Test it out and let us know :thumb:

Spray it on your window. If it looks like crap (which i'm sure it will) just take some carb cleaner and it will wipe right off :)

yea i just thought it would be fun to throw out there, using that question however is to deny ones self their natural creative impulses and is why so much is so similar these days... everythings just bolt-and-play from bodywork to mechanical bits.

im still gonna try it out anyway on some glass and lexan i have left over from fabbing up windows when i get back home in a few weeks and let you guys know unless i see results from someone else in the meantime

sure real tint is definitely nicer i mean ive always had it done professionally... but this would be so cool if it worked. so far besides the question we all have of adhesion to the glass theres not much to tell me there isnt a chance without doing it myself.

oh and about it coming out differently- im pretty confident in my custom painting experience that i can apply it evenly so long as this stuff behaves like paint and not something crazy... shooooouuld be interetsing haha:p

The nite shades tint is a purplish-black when sprayed on a clear surface. It is meant for red tails. I sprayed my clear corners with nite shades after I did my tails, and although they look black, when light shines through, it comes out purple. Also, window tint is made to be seen through one side, if you spray on the nite shades, as dark as it is on the outside looking in, is as dark as it will be looking out. Go ahead and try it if you have time but I wouldn't be expecting great results.

oh ok didnt know about the color... forget that, i didnt want to make it really dark i wanted a nice light smoked kinda thing since like you said it would be dark as hell on the inside but if its going to be a light purple smoke then nevermind
