I was wondering if any of you used copper NGK's? I have always bought the standard type, but would quickly switch over to the copper versions if there is anything to be gained. Any input would be appreciated.

Copper NGK's are by and far the most recommended plug for DSM's, be it BPR-6, 7, or 8 or BR-6, , or 8 (non projected). Plenty of people use them, I would say more use them than don't.

Spark plug thread? Look for Defiant in 3, 2, 1...

What's the standard type for spark plugs then...? Steel?

The ones they always kept selling me were platinum. Now I need to grab a set of the copper ones. Thanks for the help guys

Most auto parts stores have some sort of spiff/commission deal for the salespeople. "Sell a set of 4 or more platinum spark plugs and get $0.25!" That sort of thing. So, it's in THEIR interest to sell you a platinum plug over a stock, copper plug. They'll usually say that it gives you more power, stronger spark, better fuel mileage. Bullshit. Platinum plugs in a turbo DSM usually results in loss of power, hesitation, missing, and worse fuel mileage.

Even when I worked in an auto parts store, I never sold platinum plugs unless the customer asked for them or there were no other options, regardless how much extra money I could make off of them. We had spiffs for selling Tornado's, too, if that tells you anything.

Not Pulstars again. Just google in "do Pulstars really work" and you'll see just about every forum has 5 people that ask that same question. The results are the same. It's a hype.

Anything but copper in a turbo car will cause problems, I asked for some coppers at autozone the other day, just by the bpr7es and the guy didn't hesitate to get exactly what I wanted.
I was also there buying plugs for a pile=o=shit lancer and he tried to get me to buy those $10/plug quad platinums. I went with single pole regular ass iridiums. That pretty much shut him up.

I am going to switch out my platinums and get the copper ones. I was thinking of still going with the br8es, I have not updated my profile in a bit, I currently run BC 272's and plan on installing my Magnus manifold that I just painted black for smog(will also have a matching flat black heat shield covering it and the RC 750's). I will update it as soon as I am done with this post. The current plugs I run are NGKBR8ES, platinum:coy:. Do you guys think I should run a hotter plug like the BR7ES's? I am planning on running water injection soon and would like to hit about 28psi or so. Thanks for the help

If only there was some warning...maybe in red, labeled #3...that appeared when posting a reply that this isn't allowed.

If only...

Now, find me ONE DSMer running respectable times with these Loch Ness plugs that spit unicorn juice, and I'll tone down the sarcasm. The skepticism is here to stay, however.

with owning a boosted car i cant afford to keep changing 50 dollar platinum coated flux capaciter injected neon lighted ngks LOL
so i use the coppers and they work great for me
