hi i recently purchased a 1992 eagle talon dl with 230,000 (still runs strong) i obviously need more power what do you guys recommend? rebuild and turbo ? or how difficult is a gst swap? and as far as parts like camber kit and springs are they the same as a same year eclipse?

If the motor truly has 230,000 thousand on it then turboing it is something that i would not consider at the time. If you want to go the turbo route then the first thing i would do is go back to the basics and rebuild the motor with forged internals and check the transmission out and make sure that it can handle turbo. I believe that the 1992 to 1994 eclipses and talons are very similier. i know that the 2g talons are the same body and suspension but the motor and trans are different in the non turbo and turbo versions.

i agree and also another things to really pay attention to is half shafts and control arms

With that mileage, I'd be spending a lot of time and $$$ in making sure that all the mechanicals are in goo working order and all the maintenance is done...before even thinking about more power.

Unless you're just building a race car. In that case... yank the motor, go turbo and drive like you stole it until the wheels drop off or the <insert part of your choice here> breaks.

Just an idea but do all the maintenance and make it your DD.

You can probably find a 1g turbo'd DSM for cheaper than you can bring yours to life and then turbo it.

I see them all the time here in Oklahoma on craigslist and such for less than $1000 in pretty good shape
