Newbie Welcomed?

Hey guys.
I'm new to the site.
Actually new to Mitsubishi aswell.
Always been a fan of the 95-99 Eclipse.
Mits. Evos, 3000GT.

Anyways...I'm mostly a Honda guy.
I own 2 Honda CRX, and buying a third.
I'm trying to build my own Race Car.

Anyways, why am I in DSM?

I bought a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS
for only 1500.00.

Came with Bodykit, Rims, Seats, CD Player, Slightly Tinted Windows, Headlights, Exhaust.

What's wrong with it? Bodykit was screwed in with screws. Bodykits is cracked here and there, and doesnt fit properly.
Headlights are loose, aswell as Taillights I think. Needs Paint. I dont like the Racing Seats.
Runs like shit. May need Fuel Filter, and need to clean the Fuel Injectors. Other than that I'm clueless. Might be Idle Sensors...

Anyway, I saw potential in it. I mean, I got it for 1500.00. Not bad I think.
Worked him down from 2800 to 1500.

He wanted the money so he could buy a slammed truck. 1500 was all he needed.

I'm currently suspended til January 28th. So I'm making that my deadline to have this car running.

I do know its a 2.0 Non-Turbo w/ ~150,000 miles on it. Transmission seems a lil stiff, but stick clicks. I'm guessing thats because it's been sitting out for a while?

I'm not trying to make this a race car, going for all show.
I don't need any more points or tickets. I just need a car to get me from point A to B.
And with style, and sound.

If any...I might to I/H/E. Short Shifter. Clutch Kit. New Body Kit, Darker Tint, buy stock seats, have the re-wrapped. Aftermarket Taillights.

After I'm done my CRX, I might dropped a new engine in it.

So guys...what do you say? Am I welcomed?

welcome to the dsm world, hey good luck with the crx though, i had one with a b18c1 in it. there pretty qucik, but as you know, every body and there mom has a civic. it just took to much money to make the hp that you can spend half that with a dsm and hore some mustangs. yeah, i say your welcome. what are you putting in your crx? there doing the k20a motors out of the rsx type S now, in the hatchs, that pushes 200hp stock or the h22. just wandering. well, agian welcome and hope your eclipse will work out for ya. later, landon

My cousin had a nice looking CRX with a Mugen bodykit and Greddy turbo setup. Quick little cars.

if you gave us a little more info on how the car is running shitty, we'll probably be able to help ya get it running in tip-top shape (for awhile anyways). have your a compression test to see what you have for compression? any other problems your having with it? let us know, this is the place you'll get your questions answered.

Yeah I know all about B-Series, H-Series, K-Series.
The new K20's are pretty impressive...future power!!

I have friends that built BEAST B's. LS/VTEC Turbo Pushing 800HP.

I just bought a magazine lastnight.
ALL MOTOR 10k RPM K20.
IPS made a Cam called K2. It took the stock 171whp/125wtq K20 to 248whp/172wtq.
So they took it to the next step up, made a cam called KME, but the engine didnt rev high enough to experience its powerband, so they built the bottom end, top end and TWM 52mm ITB. That increased it to 312HP and 10,000 rpm.

I got friends working on K24/K20 setups as we speak. Not sure if they're going to turbo it.

I ..myself.. like to go for rare. the DOHC D16. "ZC".
Theres the
JDM DOHC = ZC (CRX)
USDM DOHC = D16A1 (80's Integra)
UKDM = D16A8, D16A9 (Rovers?)

The DOHC D16 Models are all Non-Vtec but can still run strong up against B16 (w/ VTEC).

I have a few friends that are pushing ~500WHP with their ZC DOHC TURBO.

So I'm going for NA 1.8L ITB ZC DOHC. Then 1.8L Turbo ZC DOHC.

So these are my race car dreams/check list.

I would love to have a show car DEL SOL. Maybe even have a Built K-Series dropped in it.
But I dont want to get TOO carried away with my dreams.

For now I'm just working on selling some of my Stock CRX, and work on my ZC Block, and work on my NEW ECLIPSE!

I bought a camera lastnight just for the eclipse.

I forgot to mention it has nice z3 Fenders.
Primored Hood with Hood Pins.
The exhaust is "A3 Racing."
So yeah ###### going to need a new one.
I like my Side Skirts.
I like the Drift/R33 Front Bumper.
Just about any Rear Bumper will work.

I might sell my Tenzo R Bucket Racing Seats to my friend who has a Prelude, Bodykit, tints, rims, and just dropped in his ~200WHP H22 DOHC. He just polished everything on it. Havent seen it yet, But Im going to take pictures of that too. I'll put up pictures as soon as snow melts. we got snow lately. so...yeah sux.

Anybody know where I can buy parts for eclipse? are there any classifieds in this furoms or others? I'm member in alot of furoms...so.

yeah if you look at the top of the page where it says "classifieds" you can usually buy stuff there. also car-part.com always has what i'm looking for in terms of hoods, fenders, any stock parts.

yeah, my friend has a civic coupe that has the ls (non-vetch) that comes out of the integra ls which is the b18 with no vetch and he put a greddy tubo kit on it and gets about 450 hp. i like the ls b18 non vetch cause they have better compression ratio for spraying or turbo. yeah your z motor can be built fully and be quick as hell. there is alot of mods you can do to those motors. you can find a lot of mods for sale here if you want to. for your 420a motor, you can get intake, cam, pistons, arp head studs, rods, and stuff to build it up and possibly turbo it. there is a couple on here that are tubo and they can push some numbers if have the money. well keep us posted. later

Just thought id give you a fair warning. The honda crx below is the previous car of the member here now jst2fst. He bought the below crx (with dohc zc motor) and a bunch of bolt ons to beat my non turbo eclipse, which he did. But... to his dismay when i bought this talon, with the zc and all the bolt ons, the talon completely stock walked it down even from a highway drop. Thats when he decided to sell it and get an eclipse. ZC is one of the least capable engines for the crx, but hey its cheap right?

It's so easy to buy parts for a D16.
And it's "out-dated" and becoming "rare", "under-estimated", "forgottened..."

Hopefully I'll bring back the 'LEGEND'...LoL

But yeah, I'm sure if I spend as much money into my Eclipse as I'm about to in my ZC...I could ###### make my eclipse do 9s-10s.

But wheres the fun in that...I want rare...Small with a punch...

I like the eclipse only as a show car...(for now...)
