newbie w/oil gauge problem

I noticed to today that my oil pressure gauge stopped working in my 92 GSX,completly. Haven't noticed any oil leaking,loud noises etc but when I checked around the oil filter I noticed a wire was unplugged....it was getting close to dark and I wasn't able to find out where it plugged into. Anyone have pics available or a link to any pics? I've been looking around the forums and couldn't find anything,plus I'm looking throught my Chilton's manual. Thanks

There is an oil pressure sending unit which that wire plugs into. When its light out or get a flash light its on the bottom of the oil filter housing.

Here's a pic of a 2g oil filter/cooler housing. Yours may differ since it's a 92. You can see two wires coming off of it. I know one of them is for the gauge but can't remember which one. I remember that the clip for it falls off extremely easily, though, as it's happened several times on my car and the oil pressure gauge stopped working. The dealership either replaced the clip or modified it a bit to make it stay on better.

At the bottom of the filter housing, there's a brass can with a nipple on it. That's the oil pressure sender gauge. The loose wire goes there.

Actually, on a 2g, the oil pressure sender is on the back of the oil filter housing toward the road (pointing toward the rear of the car). It's just behind the plastic panel that separates the inside of the front-driver's side wheel well from the engine compartment. The wire isn't bolted on, and it comes off by hand fairly easily, so it wouldn't suprise me if yours fell off. I'm pretty sure you'd be able to see it from underneath with the front-driver side jacked up.
