new transmission

I have a 92 Eagle Talon TSI FWD. Just recently had new stroker motor put in it, new big turbo, redone whole motor pushing around 400 HP..the guy that built it said transmission was weak and would be next thing to go. I have been looking around for new transmission that will take a little beating. I am not going to out and out drag the car but it will be at dragstrip some. I like to have fun on the street with my car too! I have looked at the John Shepherd transmissions and I am just lost at what to buy. Does anyone know where a good new transmission is that isn't too awful expensive. I was hoping to buyt a decent one for around $1500. If anyone knows a website or anything that has transmissions please let me know...Thanks!!

I seen the ones on shepherd transmissions. One was like 950 and the other 2450. do they do a mid grade one?

call or email them im sure if you ask the 950 can have some add ons to boost it up for you! you never know till you ask
