I was wondering what the crank walk is? I have a 98 eclipse gst with 140k miles, and is the 7 bolt instead of the 6. Is there anything i can replace to prevent the block from exploding like in this video?

Also since i have a 140k i would like to know other parts i should just replace to keep my engine running nice and efficient. This is one of my favorite cars of all time so i wouldn't mind dropping around 2 grand (for the time being) to restore it. Anyway thanks for your time and i cant wait to start working on my dsm

. That video....

. Crankwalk is way overrated plus any motor can walk not just dsm's. As 95talongirl stated is mostly peoples mistakes that lead to engine failure either by inexperience or abusing it without proper mods, tuning, and maintenance
.
which is less prone to walk like a 6 bolt. I actually swapped my motor 3 years ago to a 6 bolt to keep it from "walking" only to have it walk 4 months later
so dont get all into that hype about only 7 bolts walking either.
