I put a new starter in three days ago and its been starting fine until today. When I turn the key the starter just clicked. when I swapped starters there wasn't a ground connected to it so I didn't connect one and i put a new spade terminal on it. Is there a ground that should be connected? It started fine before though so could it be a solenoid?

Sounds like a dead battery if it just clicked, if you have a multimeter test the voltages of the battery it should float around 12.8 volts. If you don't have a multimeter then take it to Advance Auto and have it tested / charged free of charge.

Check your battery, you may have just ran into bad luck and everything is going at around the same time. If it's good then when you try to start the motor, click the key into the start a bunch of times really fast, sometimes that will kick the solenoid in. If that doesn't work than see if you can tap on the solenoid with something while someone tries to start it. If it starts either way then it's a bad solenoid. If not then go through all the connections to the starter and clean them up and retighten them.
