Yea, i just got a walbro 255 put in my 90 talon tsi and wow. Well let me start by saying i have the stock injectors and an automatic fpr. I know thats not exactly good but eh, me=broke, but anyways...before when i had the stock pump, which i found out was original, i would start knockin around 4500 and it just wouldnt stop and my IDC was 102% at 15psi. Now that i have the 255 well, i have idle leaned out the whole way considering the way i had it set before it was spittin out gas and i didnt touch mid or wot throttle and i was blowing plumes of black smoke @ 15psi. So i was like okay, and i turned up the boost. I have it set at 19psi and im still gettin LOTS of black smoke, no knock at all in any gear, and my idc went down to 87% at 7000 rpm in 3rd gear. I know I need injectors (should be gettin them monday or sometime next week) but anyone ever have the same results with this particular setup? And, is it safe to run this way, as long as im logging everything?
 
Well im still on my 450s and im tuning my car to go to the track on saturday. Well this may seem kinda akward but hear me out and tell me whatcha think. How strange is it that i can run 21psi on 450s, a 255 pump w/out a afpr and have no knock and still run rich as can be. I dont know how many times i've logged this and i cant comprehend how im not going to break something :rolleyes: :confused: I made a few passes in 3rd and every time i had to take out fuel, my o2 voltage was .91 which is rich for a 90 i think (but who cares i was watchin knock and timing) and every run i made i was getting 21 deg timing to redline and 0 knock....and, my IDC was 86%. Anyone have some input as to wether or not this is safe?
Edit: I forgot about this, but how do you knwo when your o2 sensor goes bad, i have a post but i figured i mention that not only do my trims not really move from 118, 89, 81, but at idle my o2 voltage is .04 or so till i start drivin, then its normal at idle for about 5 min then it goes back to .04. And the other thing, on a mmcd palm 100 logger, should the accel enrichment move steadily when you give it gas and start to boost? :confused:
 
Well, since nobody knows anything about my previous posts :rolleyes: i actually have a question about knock. At what point does the computer pull timing due to knock and what exactly does "1" count of knock mean? I mean, I have a warning sound for knock over 9 counts but it doesnt seem like it pulls timing until it gets much higher? Any input would be appreciated :) :talon:
 
I read somewhere that the ecu begins to pulls timing at 3 counts of knock. Someone correct me if I am wrong, I searched for a few minutes and could not find this write-up. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, maybe someone else can chime in. Best of luck to you, I am still a virgin to tuning.
