New owner of a Talon TSI

Well I just bought a 93 Talon Tsi and its got a couple problems. First off it bogs really bad when your first starting off but after about 2500 rpm it seems fine. Could anyone help me ficure this out

Please guys any help would be apreciated. The motor really likes to bog down when the car is put in drive.

Does it smell like alot of fuel is being dumped?

Boost leak or you have a sensor bad tps or idle screw needs to be tightened or loosed up.

Have the trans checked and serviced if not down already....mitsu's don't dirty fluid or clogged valve bodies..how does it shift...pm and let me know the progress

you could be just running rich on fuel or lean on air, but it could also be your coil packs. i had the same problem i ended having to get a msd ignition and coil packs.

check and see if someone hacked the maf(mas). when i removed my lower honeycomb light throttle driving sucked!

Ok im new to turbo so i dont have a Boost leak tester yet will get on. Im not sure where the idle screw is I have never worked on the 4g63 before.
It seems to shift fine.

Leak test, and do a general tune up. Plugs, wires, Timing belt, fluids. Make sure the BOV is recirculated, and that the maf still has all it's honeycombs.

Start the car up, let it warm up and go to your exhaust and smell the fumes (don't inhale too much ) if it smells like gas then you are running rich. If so, check your sensors (or check if the check engine light is on). If you need new sensors you can get them cheap at https://www.sparkplugs.com/. Tom.

Well I was going to get plugs and wires but not sure of a good company for DSM I have a 3G Eclipse and they use NGK not sure if it is the same for DSM though. What is a good company for a Boost Leakage tester? THanks for your welcome.

Artago it does smell a little of gas also the check engine light is on not sure what it wants cause i cant find a place that can read the codes

I got some new gaskets today for the head and the exhaust manifold cause i noticed that it is leaking oil not sure from where so im going to try and get those gaskets in by the end of the week.

Ngk, or acel or msd for wires. NGK for spark plugs too (bpr6es's for your stock car).

Pick up a logger. That way you can check out the cars vitals and pull/clear codes. I picked up my whole logger set-up for 65 bucks. Just get a good palm on ebay with a cradle and software and get a cable w/ mmcd.

Machv.com is where i got my tester. But you can make one VERY easily yourself with just a pvc cap and a rubber coupler and a tire stem.

VFAQ.com is your best friend now that you have a dsm. And searchiing here for everything you need is always a good idea too.

What software would you recommend for the Palm, Or better yet does it have to be a palm pilot i got a couple iPaq would those work.

Go to mmcd's site and see what palms are compatable.

Personally i have a palm m130 color and MMCD. MMCD is freeware which is nice, the palm was 45, and the cable was 15 on ebay.

Ok cool I will have to do that. Well I started to work on the car a little today and it appears that one of the sparl plug boots is missing the rubber part on the bottom where it connects to the spark plug. Also the spark plugs look pretty bad. So i think plugs and wires are on the list.
