New or Used Injectors???

Is it really worth the extra ~100 bucks saved on buying new injectors?? I think its worth spending the extra money since I'm dishing it out on a new EVO II 16G anyway; I may as well make as much new as possible.

Do injectors really deteriorate that much over the span of a year or so that it would be better in purchasing them new though??

Like anything, it's hit and miss. If the price difference is enough to make you consider it, check seller references and ask as much as you can about them before buying.

I've bought and sold several sets of injectors and never had any issues on either side... YMMV.

Like stated above its a hit or miss with used injectors, but if your really concerned about the money like I would be. I would just buy new and and get it over with.

People upgrade there injectors so often though used one usually don't have all that many miles on them. I got my evo injectors for $100 and have been real happy with them. Plus if you get a used set for cheap enough you can send them to napa and they will rebuild them and flow test them. I know its $25 an injector here.

Like what Johnny said, people go though fuel injectors very often especially dsm's, they seem to stay fine even if it was used. i wouldn't mind getting a used set..I would recommend getting a new O-ring kit if you went that route

Just get them cleaned and flow matched, some new o-rings and you should be set. Some new injectors sets aren't even flow matched... Just something to think about.

I've always bought used injectors for my cars (680's, 750's, 1000's, 1150's), and haven't had any issues. If they've been sitting a while, you may have to tap on them if they are stuck shut, but that's it.

Buyng used is great if your budgeting and trying to stretch those dollars. Unless they are complete junk, you will be fine. Just make sure u buy from a reputable party.

I've bought two sets of Evo IX injectors, a set of Denso 650s and a set of PTE 680s - all used. The first set of evo injectors were flawless but I swapped them out for the Densos which turned out to be a VERY poorly matched set. I got another set of evo injectors which flowed much less than the fist set and now I'm on the PTE 680s and so far I'm happy with them.

The lesson here is that you can't trust them to flow what they're supposed to unless you have a cleaning/testing sheet or else a manufactures guarantee. Next time I think injectors I'll just drop the $250 on a set of FIC from MAP which are guaranteed to w/in 2% and I'll call it a day. If I'd just done that in the first place I'd be ahead in money.
