New on tuners and had some questions

Hi , I'm new on tuners and I had a few questions. I've always been into cars but I been more into them because fortunately my boyfriend shares the interest . He has a 95 gst eclipse with a 2gb conversion, that is in the process of doing some big things . First I know my way around these cars , but I have a problem I am 4'10 and even though I've learned to drive manual it's not the best choice for me. I'm to short i can press the clutch down but my ankle starts to hurt because I'm stretched all the way out. So I am going to have to get an automatic car Instead , my boyfriend wants to change my TQ converter but doesn't know much about automatic tranny's and what's good and what's not . What would be a good Torque converter ? Any advice that maybe I should know ? How much can a stock converter more of less can hold? Help me out please and thank you
 
This is probably a stupid question, but have you moved the seat as ar forward (while being safe about it) to reach? Or is that just an uncomfortable position to sit at?
 
Thanks everyone :) And no spyderdrifter it's not a stupid question. Yes I have the seat all the way forward ( that's the only way I can drive any car LOL ) the point is that even at that distance my foot reaches but when I press down on the clutch my ankle gets stitched out all the way after a while that flexing position hurts and it's not very good for my ankle either . I was there was a mod

Hey CDC wouldn't that effect me as when I let go the clutch , my knee won't hit the steering wheel? Yes I'm up that close LOL
 
I own 1G instead of 2G and I know the converters are slightly different, but as Jus said, unless you are going for all out race, or are running a big turbo and need to be able to build boost for a launch, I can't see how a higher stall converter is necessary.

I have a built motor with a 3065 (65lb/min turbo) and completely stock drivetrain (with the exception of the blue wire mod) and am totally fine with it for the time being. I can't launch worth anything as I can only build like a couple pounds brake boosting (with the 16g I could build about 12), but most of my fun is from a roll, so it doesn't matter.

My advice, if you go auto, leave the converter alone. I can think of better ways to spend a few hundred bucks.
 
I don't know if you're receiving my messages but if you are disregard this. But yes I am small as you know and if the adapter is made I still wonder if that will cause an obstruction with my knee and steering wheel. Thing is I am sitting all the way forward the steering wheel in a medium level and a pillow is under my tushie so 1. I am able to see. 2. Because the position of the chair isn't convenient for me. I could probably post pictures with how I am sitting but even if there was an adapter I still have to push the clutch all the way down thats the big issue how to make that easier even in the long run when the better clutches are put in and the pressure plates are harder

I cant imagine sitting that close to the steering wheel would be good if the airbag where to go off.

You should look into having some extender or adapters made. Should be too hard or expensive.
 
Unless you making 350ish horsepower and are all wheel drive and plan on launching, you don't need a higher converter.Stock is fine. Best mod I did with my auto is a big trans cooler.
 
Correct me if I'm wrong, but my best friend is 4'6" so she gave me a little bit of information about government assistance for people who are too short to drive standard sized cars. They'll modify your seat, steering wheel and pedals so its comfortable and safe for you to drive at no cost.
 
Make sure you have the front of the seat as far down as possible. This might give you an extra inch or so of room. It could mean the difference.

(You can lower the front of the seat independent of the back. It's the wheel in the front on the left edge of the seat (for manual) or by pressing the forward half of the switch (for power).
