heavyD said:I look at it like this EXXON/Mobile/Imperial Oil is the largest oil company in the world. They have oil/gas processing facilities all over the world and have spent billions on research & developement of synthetic oils. Are you going to trust your engine with them or oil made at a little facility in Wisconsin (Amsoil) that was developed by a fighter pilot?
. And I guess I have no complaints about running it in the DSM, the main difference is that it was thicker than what I had been running and so it starts a bit easier (probably worn rings) and smokes less (probably less oil leaking through my valve guide seals). I've heard good things about synthetics over Conventional oil, but mostly I feel good about using Synthetic as a way to break dependence from foreign/ middle eastern crude oil.
in my car because my car ran better with it. I tryed a few different oils and I can honsetly say that Mobile ! has earned its spot in my car. About that 15,000 mile deal, thats more likely for a car that is driven "right" and is not boosted. When i say right i mean not punching it at least 2 a day or taking it to the track here and there, I mean lets face it guys 15,000 is a big number for a car that I hate to say it. . .is . . .old. AM not saying that the oil isnt good because i think its better than the reg. stuff but I do think its not safe. At the most like what other dsmer said is 5,000 miles. Thats just my 2 cents.

It doesn't matter who or what oil you choose. Whatever you do decide to run stick with it, THAT is what it best for your engine. It is not recommend to switch from brand to brand or weight to weight. Just pick one and stick with it. The previous owner of my car ran Mobil 1, so that is what I am running in it. I ran Synergyn Oil in my previous 1g, mostly cause it was available where I worked at the time. Synergyn is GOOD stuff though!
