I feel like I just got the 1st gen and it already seems like a dinosaur compared to this.

What exactly do you need to make this run completely?
The 3'' GM MAF
The GEN 2 Translator
The wideband o2 sensor?
How does it plug together? It looks like the front O2 sensor runs straight into the Gen 2 unit. What do you do with the plug where the stock O2 sensor runs into?
Do you still need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? How would you go about adjusting the pressure on it if the unit itself is also going to adjust your fuel pressure for you to make sure you hold a certain A/F ratio?
I've never seen how an S-AFC is hooked up before or used an adjustable FPR so i'm new to those areas.

Obviously, you should have a logger before you start playing with a piggyback fuel computer.
If he/she wants to use the wideband tracking feature (which I think he/she does), then just a wideband sensor is not going to do anything. A wideband controller with a wideband sensor is needed.Slippi84 said:This is not true I just stated that you don't NEED a wideband controller to make it work. The wideband just makes it so you can use the a/f ratio setting feature. Otherwise it works like a safc2 just with more adjustability. You have 14 tuning points and can adjust in 1/2% incriments.
Slippi84 said:You don't need a wideband but without it that cool feature of just setting your a/f ratio at WOT and lettting the unit do the work for you isn't achievable. Idealy to have a dsmlink rivaling setup you need:
Eprom ecu
The keydriver chip with timing controll feature only available threw them
The Gen2 unit
3" GM sensor
wideband controller with sensor(gauge not needed but if you want you can have it )
A logger
With all that stuff I stated above you will be able to set your a/f ratio and WOT and adjust timing too and not have to worry about diffrent factors like outside air temp and other stuff like more boost. To just run this unit all you need is the unit and a 3" gm maf. The other stuff liek afpr and other fuel stuff you still need. This is not a bandaid for broken fuel parts but a advanced way to tune if you don't want to get dsmlink or ems

Slippi84 said:We are on the same page and as long as everyone knows that to use the feature that makes this the great tuning tool it is you need the wideband controller the rest is symantics.
HartmanMS said:Well, my guess would be that it would still idle poorly with huge injectors but I don't know...That would definately be sweet though.
You use a MAF sensor adaptor plug under the hood if you want to upgrade the MAF sensor to one of the GM units (also Optional) or our new 4" MAF Sensor which will be out this summer. The stock MAF sensor will work with this unit if you prefer that
OK, am I reading this right.. The Gen II can be used with a stock 2G MAS?
I was about to pick up an SAFCII, but it seems like this could be a better option. Can I use wideband tracking with the stock 2G MAS?
Can you save the wideband tracking settings? I.E. do a run with a wideband and have it save the data and keep those maps for WOT from there out?
I have a keydiver chip, how does the timing control work with the Gen II? I didn't realize my chip had this feature.
