Just bought a 95 eagle Talon Tsi 5-speed with 125,000 miles on it and so far ive changed the Oil adapter, crankshaft dampener, balshaft belt, timing belt, valve cover gasket, oil seals, crankshaft, and the oil pressure SW. Since ive been reading the post here I have the same problem alot of other people are having with the Idle surge, ive done some reading and bought wires and plugs and I'am looking for a place that sells valve covers at a reasonable price because mine is cracked with oil puddles. soo after i find one ill change that and the wires and plugs, and after that i plan to clean the Throttle body. do u think this will clear up my idle surges or do u think it could be the ECU, ISC, IAC? And one more question since I have a high mileage car and has a turbo what Oil do you think I should use along with the oil filter? This is my first high mileage/turbo car so I dont know what route to choose. Thanks for your help :talon:

First off, congrats on buying the car. Go figure it has problems, its too common on these things. Anywho, about the oil. Just go with a name brand conventional oil like Valvoline or Castrol and so on. Synthetic will make your car more prone to leak oil with that kind of milage. Just stick with a good 10-30 oil and you should be just fine. About the idle surge. There should be a vfaq on it. Could be anything from dirty TB, or the TB plate not closing fully at idle, faulty ISC, faulty EGR, faulty FIAV. Best bet would be to first clean the TB and make sure it is closing because that is pretty much gunna cost you very little. Maybe a can of TB cleaner, that's it. Also you can check the ISC with a multimeter. All this should be on vfaq. Just hop on there and check it out. For a new valve cover, check out mitsubishigraveyard.com they'll more then likely have some lying around.
