Mississauga,
Looking for a new one. Not too many recent posts about them. So just wondering on your guys experiences with them. Currently trying to decide between a pioneer or alpine. Both just below $300

The 9886 and pioneer 6000 (a lot cheaper)

Thanks.

read the features and compare, see if you are willling to pay the price difference between the 2 and go from there.

i go with features that i need, brand name comes later, esp for a system that is not competition.

I don't care about the brand. It just has to have a USB connection for me. I just got a Blaupunkt only because it doesn't look like neon-filled dung, and has adjustable display colors. No CD player, just a USB input and an SD slot. $160.

That's not bad for $150. No skipping CD's, no motorized faces that break. Sounds good to me :D

I almost bought that, then I found out that if you have more than 2GB of music, you'll need multiple cards on that one since it doesn't support SDHC (high capacity SD cards).

no input on the alpine models?

the pioneer ones dont look as nice. would look for one on ebay but the dollar sucks.. def not worth it.

I would say pioneer. They have a great ipod interface.

I personally prefer sony, plus thier new models are great for ipods now. CDX-GT620IP

ok thanks for your responses. I looked at sony's but since they were cheaper i pretty much ignored haha.

The Brisbane is the one I have- I run a 4GB thumb drive on the USB. I'm not sure if I've tried a larger-than 2GB SD in it or not.
In other cars, I also run a Dual CD player that takes MP3 discs, and a Wal*Mart VR-3 that has SD, USB, AUX socket and plays MP3 CDs. The Dual was $100, the VR-3 was $80, and they really do sound just fine.
