New GReddy BOV - Type RS

Anyone know about the new BOV. It's a compromise of the S and R (40mm Valve Diameter) and a whole lot better looking than both. I wonder about re-circ capabilities (weird blue flange) and how much pressure it will hold. Comments...?

Oh, and I did a search, but as you can imagine there were a lot of misses on a site with RS as a trim of the car and with GReddy BOVs so popular. If it's a repost... Sorry!

Suprisingly, the RS sounds almost exactly like my 3KGT VR4 BOV. It's a little louder, but mine is recirc'ed.

it looks cool and i like the sound but i was expected a more unique sound like the type-s. i i knew when a car with a type-s drove by, but with this i probably wouldnt guess it was a greddy type-rs. Sounds similar to many i've heard before (turbo xs).

Lets get some good performance info here. I could care less about the sound.

It Holds boost very well.... i have a problem with the setting on mine at the moment. I have a dual MBC set at 11 and 24psi. In order for the BOV to not leak at 24.... i have to tighten down the valve screw.... but when I run 11psi and the BOV releases... it makes a fluttering sound like its not opening all the way.

i have both a type s and a type rs 4 sale type s is about 6 months old the type rs is only 2 days old been on the car for 2 days but still have the original hardware still sealed in the bag let me know if anyones interested i alos have pics if you want to see some

Does the RS come with a part to put in place of the blue nozzle to re-circulate it? After reading previous post it doesn't seem like it does, but I was looking on eBay and an auction says:
"Adjustable Spring Rate, Re-circulation Hose Adaptor"

just use two hose clamps and ice maker (blue) tubing

It does not come with the adapter, and Greddy will not have one until the end of the year. Can you post a pic of that ice maker tube thing? I would like to be able to use the BOV now....but won't vent...

i'm waiting for a few to come in so we can try it out on our MR2(GT35R) or our 240sx (GT2871). I might stick one on my DSM too and see how it goes. I wasn't a fan of the Type S but the Type R is a good valve. Hopefully it is more R than S

just go to lowes or home depot and ask them for blue icemaker hose, its really flexible rubber tubing i found to be very effective when i was using a 1g bov, its lik 70 cents a foot and worth its weight in gold

i had to use it because my 1g bov was too close to the recirc pipe on my intake to use any other hose, just go grab some and put it on, you will be happy

The blue part does screw out, so in theory you could get a piece of threaded pipe and make one....

So for $172, you can get the Type-RS shipped (2nd Day), and make your own recirculation piece? I'm up for that. Although, I have to buy the flange, too. That's only about $25 though, right? Still less then the Type-S Kit.

How does the rs do as far as fluttering and compressor surge when vented. I have the type-s and in my opinion is the biggest POS I have ever seen. No matter how its adjusted, It flutters constantly when vented (I have a MAFT)

Called SlowBoy Racing yesterday night and ordered my recirc kit. If you call them they will order one from Greddy, they are not going to stock them so it takes a few days for them to get it from Greddy and then send it to you. $20 + shipping

alright so does the type s come with the flange needed and recirc parts? Cause it sounds liek the RS doesn't come with either. All in all which sounds better and is there really any performance gains?
