alright, just from some extra searching i found this (http://www.dsm-performance.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=38&products_id=119). as far as i can tell that would work also... and i think that "7CM" is the part number for that particular site also.

I have an unported evo manifold and am trying to put it back on. What does the manifold ring do?Is the manifold ring is it necessary?Can i use the 1g ring or do i need to get the evo manifold ring?

i cant tell you right now, but i should be able to tell you later today.

i finally got my manifold and 2 gaskets i need, and since it rained like hell last night, john should have the day or part of the day off now. (he works construction, road maintenance) i am anxious to get this done, but one i get it done, i have to take my car somewhere for a timing belt change.

the evo manifold should match up to the turbo without a problem. that is- as long as your car is a 5 spd. dont hold this to me, but i think that the automatic models were fitted with a smaller turbo(6cm opening, versus the 7cm on the evo and 14b.)
this means that the ring should fit either without a problem.

i even asked the guy at the mits dealership when i picked up my gasket for that, and asked if there was any other part i may need for that and he said not that he knows of.

well, i hope that inane babbling helped a little. but i need to get off the phone, john may call soon. (c'mon more rain!)

You don't need that ring in there. It was originally put there to help the mitsu techs to align everything, it just made assembly go faster. What most people do it remove the ring and port out the turbo/manifold to remove the step that holds the ring.

ya i have a 5-spd so i just bolt it on without the ring?
