i just traded my 91 integra rs for a 1990 laser RS Turbo. the guy said its missing the idel screw or something and it idels kinda funny. when you let it sit it almost sounds like its gona die out but once you rev it past like 1.5k it runs great and pulls hard.

the car is almost all stock except a turboXS bov.

the first items im gona change: cap, rotor, wires, plugs, oil, trani fluid, new pads and rotors, flush the radiator, thermostat.
the wp and timing belt where changed like 20k ago so i dont need to do that.

my question, what else should i do to the car for matenice? also is there anyway to to turn up the boost without a EBC? it hits 12psi max right now.

thanks guys! WOOHOO BOOST OWNS.

the idling screw you can get at a dealer for less than $2.
for the maintenace i would also change the oil. check if the air filter is bad, if so change that also. to raise the boost you can get a Manual boost controller from ebay for cheap. make sure you get anotehr boost gauge beause the boost gauge. than with the boost gauge and boost controller you can go ahead and raise the boost to 14lbs. i believe if you raise the boost more than 14lbs you will need to start modding the car

How many miles are on the car? If there's a alot even if the belts have been changed I'd change the timing belt tensioner, that's the main reason the belts break. depending on the miles I'd also replace the rod bearings, there cheap and not that hard to put in, could save you alot of money in the long run. Good Luck

can i just take the intake and the intake tubeing off of the turbo and run it open, or should i buy a new metal pipe and a filter?
No, you cant. You have a metered air system. Im not sure if it would even run, if it did... it probably would run like shit. If im thinking what your thinking, (Running no air filter and no piping, and just having the turbo-inlet totally exposed... then no.) If thats not what your talking about, then I don't know. Yes, buy an intake pipe w/ an open element filter.

I think the idle problem is caused by running rich from the TurboXS BOV. As far as I know TXS only makes venting BOVs. Anyway the ECU is adding fuel for the air that the BOV vents out, so you have X amount of air but you have enough fuel for Y amount. This causes a rich condition which can give a shitty idle. Just my take on it. Good luck!
