I just bought a Dark Performance t4 manifold and had it ceramic coated by MAP. I installed it and knew the coolant hose would be close but she's a bit closer than I thought. Since my manifold is ceramic coated, could I wrap my hose with heat wrap and put heat tape on it? I will post some pics when I get home since I know people like eye candy.

Yes. I would personally wrap the manifold, but if not, you can just wrap the coolant hose.

I will give it a shot. Would like to stay away from wrapping the manifold as it never turns out just right. But if the heat wrap and tape can prevent the hose from melting, I'm all for it.

Either wrap the hose in heat wrap, or get the high temp sleeving they sell at autozone/advance.

Don't use header wrap for your coolant hose. Do it the right way and buy the insulating sleeve instead. Look at it this way, do you know anyone or have seen anyone header wrap there coolant hose? Probably not. Just my .02

I have, and it works better than the sleeve.

Ya I dont see how wrapping the coolant hose with heat wrap isn't doing it the correct way. I am going to wrap it with the exhaust wrap and maybe even some heat tape on top of the tape. Won't look as bad but still perform just as good.

^ Yes, as the insulating blankets are not as thick and there for do not offer as much protection. Again I have seen ppl wrap it, it may not look the greatest, but it works.

After I read about the sleeve, I think the wrap will serve the same purpose and wont look hideous.

I also posted some pics of the manifold like I promised :hellyeah:

To each there own but header wrap on a coolant hose is ghetto
:p I'd forgive you if it was on your uicp but on a coolant hose...yeah.

One more thing, don't make that your permanent solution. Try and figure out a better solution down the road.

What's the steak knife for?

Thats not a steak knife, its a knife I use as a utility knife. I just used it to cut zip tie type things for the slim fan, I have to switch it to the opposite side. Maybe I will see how much map will charge me to weld the old one shut and weld a new one further to the side.
