Alright so I finally started my car today after I just rebuilt the motor, stock rebuild. I noticed that I'm leaking coolant onto the 02 housing, and the car is smoking really bad from the exhaust. It almost looks like its leaking out of the o2 housing where is it connects to the turbo, which has a brand new gasket in between and the bolts were torqued down to spec. Any ideas whats going on here?

I see where you have checked the head for warpage, and you say it is in spec. How did you check it?
Was the head rebuilt? if so was it resurfaced? and if it was, what was it surfaced on?
Machine shops have diffrent machines that can surface heads/blocks, and NOT all milling machines will leave the proper surface finish.
If it was resurfaced on a "master head surfacer" That machine is nothing more than an overgrown belt sander, and not very accurate.
I have seen heads that were just surfaced on one that style of machine be "V" on the head gasket surface, and I would have to assume that happened beacuse of wear on the belt of the surfacer.

also if it is the factory finish on the head, was the head hasket surface cleaned using a "rol-loc"? those can leave dips in the alum. head.
the last thing I can think of is a deep scratch running from one of the water ports in the deck of the head to the outside of it.

I also read your using a composite gasket, thats a very forgiving gasket

The head was all done by me, with help from my auto instrutor. Bacially just took it all apart cleaned everything up and reinstalled the parts. I forget the name of the tool that we used to check for warpage. The head and block were not machined.

It was a straight cut peice of metal that was layed across the head and used a feeler gauge to check warpage.

so a stright edge and feeler gauge, that works. thats the same method used by most all shops.

It may be a deep scratch across the deck surface, from rough handling,
is it safe to assue you did not have this issue pre-rebuild?

Anyone have any ideas?

Would the compression being that low be caused by the rings not fully seating, the car has only idled for 15 minutes since the rebuild.

your compression test readings are with in the 10%, a bit low, but like you stated, the rings have not seated.

Have you done a coolent system pressure test and check for leaks?

No I have not done that yet, thats next on the list. Its definitly an internal leak, as I have coolant on the spark plugs.
