it's an mr2 bpv. these are the same design as the hks ssqv that acts on pressure, but in the mr2 society are touted as being quicker responding. the more boost you run, the tighter it holds. it is made by denso so it is of oem quality. most people in the mr2 community that keep theirs are original parts. when i had my mr2 with vpc, the bov sounded like a queef sometimes when blowing off low boost and not letting the throttle off all the way. there is very little spring pressure. you can push the valve itself very easily. i've never been a fan of spring-type bovs. it is also said to bypass the turbo in some vacuum conditions, improving mpg.

i plan on getting a wiggins clamp and jb-welding the inlet of the bov to the clamp fitting. i don't want to have it welded because there are rubber parts inside. i can get the ic pipe side welded on tho.

you don't see any question marks in my post do you? make a comment, dis it or complement it.

Are they expensive? Looks like a good idea, defiantly since its oem quality.

i paid 30 shipped. it is used of course for that price :D but excellent condition. no dirt whatsoever!

Here's a comment: why don't you go with something poven like the 1g bov? Your $30 shipped wouldve bought you one of those. Or maybe you're just going for the uniqueness side of things.

yes that's what i'm going for. also going for quicker response and the ability to hold tighter with more boost. i have a 1g bov on currently, and it holds under a 30 psi boost leak test.

also forgot to mention the outlet appears to be the same size as the dsm recirc hose. it's 28mm or 1.1/16". anyone know what the hose size on the dsm is by chance?

cool. i was measuring the inlet, and its 1-1/8" OD. i was wondering if anyone is using wiggins or accufab or any other clamshell clamps that could verify what size i would need. they all seem to jump from 1" to 1.25" and i was just wondering if the ID may be different.
