I bought a 93 eagle talon tsi a few weeks ago, it needed a transmission which I am about to install. The car has been sitting for at least 3 months without it being started. Do I need to prime the oil pump or should it be ok just to fire it up? Its not close to stock 2.3 stroker, 60 trim, sheet metal intake 880cc injectors aem fuel rail etc. etc.

Thanks for any help.

Wouldn't hurt anything to prime the oil system you could with the key off and car in neutral take wire with a female spade connector and hook it to the signal wire spot in the starter and touch it to the positive cable on starter or battery car will try to start but will not because ignition key it off this will create oil pressure only do it for a few seconds not to starve the entire motor of oil but I don't think you would have any issues with just starting it right up just let it run for a bit before driving good luck and welcome to dsm world

Not only was that a headache to read, but also the hard way around doing this. Why not just pull the MPI fuse and crank the car over until you have oil pressure? Sure seems a whole lot easier.
