How To Prime Oil Pump?

Did a complete rebuild on engine and need to know how to prime oil pump. I just coated the gears and whole pump with STP engine treatment(real think stuff). Do yall think ill be able to get oil pressure? Any help? Thanks!

Before firing it up I found it best to use the nipple on the back of the intake manifold to push 2 quarts of oil through the oil sending unit with a plunger pump

I'm going to do this as well.

Just remove the nipple from the back of the intake manifold that runs to your brake booster.

Unscrew the bell shaped Oil Pressure sending unit from under-neath your oil housing.

Screw in that Brake Booster Nipple.

Plug a rubber hose to it and PUMP oil into it. This is also an effective way to prime your pump with your timing stuff installed.

Wow, you guys use the most convoluted and complicated methods ever... All you have to do is pack the oil pump gears and the case with vaseline. Disconnect the CAS when cranking until you see oil start to come out at the rockers through the oil cap. Bingo! All done.

I have used vaseline on every engine build I have ever done and never had an issue, including the $5000 build I am currently running in my camaro.

When i primed my oil pump all i did was use 10w 30 oil and pour some through the open holes. rub it on the seals and spin the gear inside with oil on it. it pumps oil pressure. but my engine over heats so it thins out and drops to around 0psi unless rev'd
