Alright so I'm doing timing belt and all on my gst it's a 97 and we took the old belt off in time and put new one on. After looking around I've heard the dowell pins on the cam gears point up and the marks meet dead center on cam gears. When we took it apart dowell pins were down so apparently my motor was 180 out on timing it ran when it was together any help????

Dillon...there's loads of threads on here for timing marks/alignment...my phone isn't letting me copy the links for you right now but there's also a procedure u need to go through to be sure your timing is right...I remember the hand cranking the engine 6times around to double check all your marks line up. I would search for it and find the most complete procedure your can. Sorry I can't copy them for u
