Not sure where I would post this topic but move if needed.

Okay, I am working on a cheap little project to dress up the engine bay a little. I'll have pictures up on my build thread when I get it all figured out.

My first problem

I am about to replace my valve cover and me and my friend got to thinking. I bought a shaved valve cover what can we do different. We came up with something and I ordered what I needed.

What I need to figure out. My valve cover bolts have a stud sticking out the top. The thread size of it is a M5, (420a by the way), the threads in what I ordered is a M4. Is there a way I can rethread a bolt to a smaller size or is that impossible. In my case, thread a M5 to a M4 bolt. I know I can rethread the part but it is impossible to hold it while I drill it with out messing it up.

My next question is

Does this bolt exist or can I get it made. It doesn't need to be strong.
I need a regular bolt M6 with 50mm length, but than a M4 or M5 stud on top the head. Similar to my valve cover bolts.

Helicoles won't help me. That has to do with stripped threads or make the threads smaller in the hole.

What I needs so to make the bolt smaller. The bolt is a M5 and the bolt needs to be a M4.
