1G Need some Saturn alt advice

So I recently decided to get rid of the oem alt in place of a Saturn. The alternator is installed and wired like the website { jay racing} says too. I'm reading that in some instances there could be a small drain? I thought this is a 2g issue? I read some people using a 12v fpr 12v? Is this needed on a 1g

Ok well I got the humming, so I wired a 12v Ignition + source. No more humming. Added a gauge. 13.5/6 constant voltage
