i just took off my dash to paint it and decided to take off my instrument cluster too...when i did, i looked on the back(that green paper stuff and all the electronic lines or whatever) and saw a line and a screw, which next to it it said TACH. i want to get an aftermarket tach, could i possibly attach the signal wire for the new tach to the screw that is marked TACH??? or do i have to find the wire somewhere else? thanks guys, the sooner the reply the better, i would like to get that tach installed today if possible...

id play it safe and just use a known RPM signal wire. im sure somone can chime in and tell ya were one is on a 1g.

yes you can use that as the tach signal usually green on your tach and you can also hook
the + side of the tach to where it says ignition and the - to where it says ground .
and you can also hook the light up to the cluster lights from there .
I did it that way using the round quick connects and mine works perfectly .
took all of 10 min to install!
