I purchased this eclipse 1997 GS-T about 1 month ago, when purchased the guy had told me the timing belt had just been done. From first glance there were issues with the car but i was willing to overlook due to the price tag ($2000) I was installing my intercooler piping when i realized there was a missing bolt on the fuel rail... lucky me it is broken off in the head. I started digging even further and half the intake manifold nuts were finger tight and the cas sensor bolt on the side of the motor also has been broken off into the head. Last but not least as im peaking over the fuel rail i see red silicone sealant in the injector holes... The car is running fine, no codes or fuel cut however im running stock boost levels and am babying it tell i figure out my situation.
Option one - Buy a new head, replace head gasket and install arp head studs, injectors, new intake manifold gasket.
Option two - remove head, try to extract broken studs and clean head then reinstall with new components.
This is my DD so any option that allows me to get the car back up and running in the same day is appreciated. The head that is on the car now looks new, cant have more then a few thousand miles on it (super clean, new valve stem seals,no wear on camshafts) The car has 150,000 on her
