need some opinions on body kits

Urban dictionary says otherwise ROFL

Urban Dictionary: Ricer

You are doing what some would feel to be unnecessary body enhancements, that do not improve performance of the car... I could more-so understand if you were wanting to do 2Gb upgrades to a 2Ga, but most feel that body kits are unnecessary, only one or two actually serve a function for racing applications and they aren't on your list. You already have a 2Gb Eclipse body, which is one of the best looking import's made.

Are you intending on only getting a front bumper? Take a look into the new bumper that Extreme Dimensions is coming out with, actually looks nice.

Cool. no ill be doing a full kit, and urban dictionary says cosmetics without the engine to back it up. i intend to spend my $6k tax return check on severe engine upgrades

i kind of like this front end for a 2g. it isn't ridiculously over done and it looks like it could be found on a current production car. think 350z ish front

I would go with this one or maybe the first one but imo the one in the pic above look's much better than the other's no doubt.

sometimes less is better.. and the body kits that have all those thin parts sticking out like the ebruni and the vader styles end up cracked in no time from people bumping them. I see them beat to hell all the time.

Arent you the same guy that was being a jerk in my other thread?.....think ill just disregard everything you say.

the little kid next to the car

Really? im not asking for all the people saying "Ricer, that looks horrible, dont put a kit on it"
thats like these people that ask how to build a 420a and then all the ass holes come out of the woodworks and say "sell it and buy a gsx" they didnt ask what car they should get they asked how to build a 420a. like me, im not asking should i put a body kit on or not, im asking "what one should i put and what color would look good" so...if what you have to say isnt "i like this particular kit in this color" then dont post anything at all.

Thats my 7 year old son DJ Jr. He loves my DSM and nick named it "The Cool Car" :thumb: I guess its better than my nick name for it "The Turbo Toilet" LOL. I never called you a ricer once. I could care less who puts what on their car. I'm not the one driving it so it makes no difference to me. I can tell you one thing though once you do start modding the engine and making some decent power you will end up hating fwd unless you like smoke shows and replacing tires. My first dsm was a fwd turbo and after a few mods it ended up being a smoke machine. I did full suspension and nice tires and still couldn't put the power to the ground. Don't get me wrong the car was an animal on the highway but 1st and 2nd gear were pretty much useless. The traction of an awd is priceless.

I'm with keithlag.. I just got the bomex.. doing the body work to it now.. cant wait till its painted and on the car...

Only a moron would call someone a ricer simply bc of a body kit

Personally, my idea of a ricer is a slow car with a fart can as the muffler, a body kit, shitty paint job and a fat ass wing on the back. I dont think it matters what kind of car.... Any car can be a ricer and I think a body kit is the fastest way to get there.

Im debating maybe work out all the kinks in it, pay it off, save a little bit up then sell it and buy a gst or gsx

i like the buddy club im thinking about putting it on my car as well. But will need to change my head lights as well b/c i have a 95 and the lights r diffrent

your first post is reviving the dead.
not a good way to start. :|

Personally i like the second one!

edit: oops didnt know this was an old thread!

Well thats what i was just thinking. Your screwed with whatever you do. "use the search"!! Ok. "Way to bring back a old thread"!! Its a viscous cycle. LOL

...Its bad enough that "use the search" is stressed as much as it is around here, but ill go ahead and explain the meaning behind the phrase.

Utilizing the search function of this site is a way to find answers to questions that have been asked over the last 10 years that are already answered, so no new thread is needed to cluter up the board and server. If you have something worthwhile to contribute to the old thread, by all means post. If you have something worthless to say like ya i want to get that body kit too, then that in it self is frowned upon.

Hopefully that can clear up some confusion.

Hey I get that. However, wouldnt it be more prudent to send said person a private message? I have a ton of questions that I would like to ask about performance related stuff. However after searching and "almost" finding the answer, i then looked at the date and if it was older then 6 months I didnt ask. But that does help those of us that havent been into DSMs for the last 10 years. Thought about just starting a thread with a list of my questions.

While I'm not a fan of body kits... Out of the 3 you posted, the first one is the best IMO.

Damn I didn't realize this was old... sorry guys, I fail >.<

I would go with the first one it looks the most clean, and probably the blue color

2nd and 3rd have way to much going on in my opinion. The 1st one is the most simple and clean one out of the three...that is if that's the look you're going for.
