Need serious help my trans is leaking

Can somebody please tell me what goes in this hole, is it just a bolt or is it one of those ones with the ball on the end? And if its just the bolt the dimension would be greatly appreciated...thanks

That is a bolt not a vent hole. Don't know dimensions though

If that's what I think it is the bolt is for the reverse idler shaft and it's 10mmx 46mm with a tapered head to facilitate install. If that shaft isn't lined up anymore it's going to be a bi*** to install without tranny disassembly. Is this a recently rebuilt transmission?

Yup I just rebuilt it and does the bolt screw into the shaft and is there a way I can move the shaft while the trans is still in the car?

Pull the transmission, take it back apart, realign the reverse idler gear shaft, reinstall the case section, then install the reverse idler shaft bolt/washer, then install the 5th gearset and 5th gear cover.

Shit happens; this is not something you can do "in-car".
