Need Quick Help on Transfer Case!!!!

in the midst of changing out the clutch and im down to taking off the transfer case but the center shaft wont come off out of the transmission...........any help or suggestions on how to get it out?????????????

The cented shaft wont come out of the Tranny because it is party of it. Make sure you take all of the bolts out of the Tcase and then give it a good nudge. It will come off.

I assume you mean the transfer case won't release from the center/output shaft, since like boostedinaz said, the shaft is suspost to be retained in the transmission by the ball under the center VCU.

The output shaft often rusts to the drive bevel gear shaft on the TC. Once it starts doing that it wears the splines down and they can bind up. Remember to check for spline wear and grease the OS on reassembly if it's still good.
